Johans Stafford

Joan Hans-Stafford has published in World Treasury of Great Poems (1980, Editor: Eddie-Lou Cole); The Los Gatos Weekly (1985); Big Beautiful Woman Magazine (1986, Editor: Carole Shaw); Bay Area Writing Project (1990); Southern Peninsula Association of Resource Specialists (1991); Grant Joint Union High School District (2001); CARS+ The Special Educator Magazine (2008, Newsletter Director: Robert Hamilton); She was featured in an article in the Lion’s Club International (September 2009, Editor: Peter Lynch); The Foresthill Messenger (2015 Editor: Scott Nelson); and the Auburn Journal (2016 and 2017 Editor: Carol Guild). A member of The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.

Known as Johans Stafford in local art circles, her multimedia artwork has been displayed at The Forest Foundation, Placer Arts, The Ore Cart Restaurant, Fortezza Winery, Foresthill Community Art Festivals, The Flower Garden, Holiday in the Pines, Holiday in the Hills, Dawn’s Art Supplies, Umpqua Bank, in Lincoln, The Flour Garden Bakery, the Auburn Library’s Beecher Room Exhibit, the Art Center of Lincoln, The Victorian Attic Thrift Shop, and Sip Wine Boutique of Auburn. Currently, her work hangs at Pescatore Winery of Newcastle and Shear Art of Auburn. Her paper corsages and party favors have been made for church groups and ladies’ teas in Northern California.

Joan aspires to write and illustrate children’s books focused on topics related to travel, the environment and other current topics of interest.

She is an active member of Gold Country Writers and the Placer Artist League.
