Officers Reports
Vice-President – Skip Michael – has set up an event location possiblitly in Roseville—will get more info, free hors dorves,

Secretary – June Gillam correspondence, sent cards to three members/families Betsy Swartzenberg, Robin Rice, and Gail

Treasurer – Susan Korn reported all the same $937.00 we have in Placer Arts, she printed out a new membership list.

Old Business

Beekeepers Lament program at Placer High School, what is the secret to writing a good book? Having someone wonderful to write about.

Sisters in Crime Workshop was great—four of us went.

Our April speaker Susanna Solomon sent us a thank you note

Lincoln Art League one act play workshop last week—Chery and Sharyn went and learned about this opportunity.

General Gomez Art-Walk in April, Chery sat at a table with brochures.

GCW April 11 Open House—12 authors set up, some sales, awkward due to being crowded and people coming in and out, up to 70 people came in at some time. Drawings were a big hit. Open mic—Joyce was great, Don told a story and Joanne read a poem. Panel of 3 good, Susan radiated and commanded that we are organized and a good organization, Robin plugged our group well, whole thing structured well.

Big day of giving May 5, there were four of us in a sparse audience. $2,700.00 parts will be matched by the national.

5th wed at Mel’s – 12 or so attended and all told animal stories,

Mentor Program update – Susan Korn planning a powerpoint presentation in a Saturday workshop, and handouts, by email, pilot project this fall.

New Business
Speaker Series – May 20, 2015, Wednesday, 10-12 is Wes Turner: The Book Judge

Elections—we are in the process of creating a slate of officers for the election next month.

Passed around BOOK MAMA GENRE SIGN UP grid—Book Mama should inventory and care for books on Placer Arts rounder rack.

Mary Lou and June will work on publishing Bits and Pieces as a free ebook on Amazon

Mary Lou noted that Orangevale Copy will charge just $2 a copy for an approximate 30-page stapled book of the sort that we might want for more paperback Bits and Pieces.
