The contest aims to give local authors the opportunity to gain experience and build their credentials. \nWinners will be awarded the following prizes: \nFirst Place        $100 \nSecond Place     $75 \nThird Place        $50 \nEntries will be accepted starting Wednesday\, August 6\, 2025\, until midnight (PT) Wednesday\, September 17\, 2025. \nContest Entry Form available starting August 6.\nClick for the 2025 Nonfiction Short Story Contest Rules. \nClick for the Short Story Contest Judging Rubric Overview. \nCELEBRATION!\nWinners will be announced at a celebration hosted by Gold Country Writers on Saturday\, October 4\, 2025\, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.\, at Auburn City Hall in the Council Chambers theater.
