Kathleen Ward grew up in a small town on the Erie Canal before moving to California. She worked her way through college abstracting management and training articles for the Training and Development Alert. Following graduation from California State University Sacramento, she has spent over 25 years writing and teaching writing, as well as editing several novels and memoirs for other authors’ publication. In 2019, she received an Honorable Mention in Writer’s Digest’s 88th Annual Writing Competition (2019) for her short story, “Barbara.” She has also won several awards for her poetry and has been featured on the World Poetry Café radio program, broadcast to 110 countries worldwide. Kathleen is a long-time member of the Gold Country Writers of Auburn, CA, the Poets Club of Lincoln, CA, and the American Association of University Women.
