William O’Daly gave his talk “Imagination and Community: Translating Our Lives Into Poetry” on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. He has translated eight books of the late-career and posthumous poetry of Chilean Nobel laureate Pablo Neruda, and most recently Neruda’s first volume, Book of Twilight — a finalist for the 2018 Northern California Book Award in Translation. His most recent book of poems, The New Gods, was published in September 2022 by Beltway Editions. A U.S. National Endowment for the Arts Fellow, he was a finalist for the 2006 Quill Award in Poetry, and a four-time Pushcart Prize nominee. For more info, visit: https://williamodaly.com/.
