Mary Mohs

Mary Mohs, M.A., has her Master’s Degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology and is a MIPD Certified Dream Work Facilitator. She has served as director and co-founder of Awakening:  A Center for Exploring Living and Dying. She is currently giving workshops and serving as a Spiritual Director. Her life’s work includes her experience as a nurse, mother, substance abuse counselor, workshop facilitator, yoga teacher, published author, and spiritual director. She has worked with the dying and grieving since 1992 and has taught Jungian dream work for over 25 years. Mary is the author of many published articles, as well as the book Opening to Dying and Grieving: A Sacred Journey.

Her background in Christian Mysticism and her extensive study of both Eastern and Western spiritual philosophies and approaches to life have deepened her understanding of her own spirituality. These studies reflect her interest in the commonalities in all of the world’s religions.

Mary’s studies of Carl Jung’s work on dreams and his subtle concepts have greatly influenced her in her work. Carl Jung believed that dreams are a window to the unconscious, and that much of our life’s work is individuation or the process of integrating the dualities, including the conscious with the unconscious, while still maintaining their relative autonomy.
